I have tried to cut back the
Plants and carefully put them into the compost but they fall off and are very tricky to pick up.
Thank you for such an informative article!Mrs. Dickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07241783711843499576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3024382604105375596.post-12923844446867333412011-06-18T23:48:06.244-06:002011-06-18T23:48:06.244-06:00Hi LJM,

But this sawfly is both introduced (so no indigenous parasites, predators and diseases) and parthenogenetic - a single female can maintain the population. So, this is a long-term commitment.

If you do decide to use a chemical, chances are the ones that the government will allow you to use are ineffective anyway and more likely to kill your bees than your pests. So, I recommend cheap surgical gloves and squishing or planting something else.HomeBugGardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11845748276844681280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3024382604105375596.post-77075406895442386212011-06-18T19:53:11.803-06:002011-06-18T19:53:11.803-06:00I came across your blog when trying to determine w...I came across your blog when trying to determine what the silver catepillar was that was destroying my Variegated Loosestrife. I did not have any damage last year but came across them yesterday after a lot of damage was already done. I have squished everyone I can find so far & that was a lot! Am hoping to control it that way, any suggestions? I don't like using chemicals.LJM from Green Bayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03835999499454973683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3024382604105375596.post-7649924353295025992010-06-21T19:26:44.614-06:002010-06-21T19:26:44.614-06:00Interesting.
